Every day in B.C. roadside workers risk being seriously or fatally injured in the “Cone Zone”

The Work Zone Safety Alliance reminds drivers to slow down, pay attention and respect the “Cone Zone” as a safety zone for roadside workers.

Richmond, B.C. / June 6, 2013 – Tens of thousands of individuals in B.C. work at the side of the road as part of their job, which puts them at risk of being seriously or fatally injured by distracted, aggressive or speeding drivers.

Today marks the launch of the “Cone Zone” campaign, an annual driver awareness initiative aimed at increasing public awareness about the dangers faced by roadside workers and telling drivers to slow down and pay attention when driving through a “Cone Zone.”
